Our Story

The issue of finding quality hijabs for everyday life extends to women in healthcare, as Hilal Ibrahim learned firsthand as she struggled to find scarves made of materials suited to her work environment.

43% of the Muslim population in the United States alone regularly wear hijabs, yet there is often not a hygienic change of hijab available in a medical setting - for providers or their patients.

After recognizing a need in both the healthcare and Muslim communities, in 2018, Henna + Hijabs designed a breakthrough product: the first-ever healthcare hijab. This revolutionary hijab was first adopted by the HealthPartners healthcare system in November 2019, and was the first ever hospital in the United States to provide hospital hijabs to medical providers and workers.

Today, H+H Med creates medical-grade healthcare hijabs for hospitals around the world in partnership with our sister company, Henna + Hijabs.
